I had someone on my email list ask me these two important questions! What does it mean to 'own every moment' and why does being in the present remove one's problems as they problems still remain?
I wanted to share my answers with you. As this at the heart of what I've been talking about and working with folks on!
The meaning of Owning Every Moment and the importance of Being Present are both ways to find Inner Purpose. (who you are). Your Inner Purpose is to awaken and live in the now. To be aware of this moment. This beautiful moment.
Not being stuck in our past.
Not fearing the future.
Not waiting for the future to make life better.
-What I mean by Owning Every Moment?
No matter what happened in the past, no matter the news, the drama at work, or with a family member. No matter what you need to do in the future, you can use this moment, right now, to grow, to be grateful, and to be helpful. To live with enthusiasm!
Why does being in the present remove one's problems as the problems still remain?
Being present does not remove one's problems. What being present does:
1.) Allows you to focus on what is not a problem right now. I use gratitude.
I'm grateful to be sitting on my couch watching the sunrise.
I'm thankful my big dumb dog is sitting next to me.
I'm grateful for this body which will allow me to play with my kids today.
I'm grateful for this mind that I can use to fulfill my Outer Purpose (what I do).
2.) When you are present, you can start to see the problem as a challenge. And challenges are put in front of us to learn, grow, to become our best selves. Start to see your life as a classroom, a playground. And your challenges as your best teachers.

I have 25 years of leadership positions in the creative industries. I have helped create and grow businesses, careers of musicians, entrepreneurs and artists. I have dedicated 15 years studying spirituality and personal growth. I feel rich in love and friendship, with abundant work now, but a start with much hard knocks and confusion. My extended family saved me from what could have been a very lonely listless existence mired in poverty and self pity. At 20 years old, teetering on the edge, someone gave me some Tony Robbins and Les Brown audio cassettes and I started to devour these tapes, I started believing what they were saying; I could also live the life of my dreams and I have! and I want to help you!
